Wedding Photography Shot List

Having a list of different wedding shots for your wedding photographer is an important component of any wedding day. A long list of shots is very handy to avoid confusion. You don’t want your photographer to be taking pictures of random people and places now, do you? The list is very easy to do. You start with the bride and groom, then you move up the family tree. Aside from that, having a vision of how the different shots would look is a good idea. But in reality, not everything planned is followed. There are instances when unplanned situations that make it through the lens are the best, and this happens for everyone.

It is safe to say that the shot list is only your minimal list. The list can go on. It can be followed strictly. Some of the items on the list can be removed, and changed. For a typical wedding, almost a thousand shots can be taken and a vast majority of that comes from unplanned takes. Of course, this happens because it is hard to predict the future. Funny moments worth capturing can just happen any time. Don’t depend on your wedding photographer to do the list. He may have his own list. It’s just natural that his experience has taught him to come up with a preset list that he can follow but that is no different than the list you will have to make before the wedding day.

Often times, the photographer will ask the assistance of the best man to get everyone organized during the takes. It’s just natural.
