Money and Traveling Tips

When traveling, always remember to bring your major credit cards like American Express, Master Card, and Visa. You will need to ensure that they are actually credit cards, since debit cards are much harder to use in foreign countries. Many shops and other places that accept credit cards will not accept payment with a debit card, so it will have limit use if you are travelling internationally.

Leave all your local credit cards in a safe deposit box in your home. The cards that you bring can be kept in a black leather backpack that should stay on your person at all times. Avoid putting them in your VIP luggage or it may increase the chances of it getting lost.

You may want to notify your credit card companies about your trip before leaving. If they are unaware of your travels, they may delay your payments. Travelling will create a unique spending pattern, that may lead them to suspect that the card is being fraudulently used, causing them to delay approvals. If you tell them that you are traveling, they may also be able to help you with several of their services.

A credit card company can be arranged to pay for your bills during your travels. They can also give you tips on how their credit card is acceptable in the country you are traveling to. If your PIN number is not acceptable in another country, they could also issue you a new one.

Using your ATM card is a great way to get cash on the go, so you won’t need to take as much cash with you. The ATM will provide you with local currency money, so you will not have to worry about changing it. ATM international fees may seem rather high, but they are still cheaper than traditional currency exchanges.
