We all live in constant hurry and crisis. We have deadlines to meet, mortgages to pay, family and boss to deal with, politicians and terrorists to afraid, inflation and competition to survive. Really stress is too much. Anxiety and depression have taken toll on our lives.
There are millions of cases of anxiety and depression witnessed every year and it shows no sign of decline on the graph. Not surprisingly but sadly, there are millions of prescriptions for anti-depressants and tranquilizers are issued every year by doctors and psychiatrists. We are personal witness of this huge phenomena where we have ourselves consumes such chemical drugs or personally know someone taking it.
Medications act either as mood changer, stimulator or repressor. Drugs temporarily change your state of mind to free yourself from feeling dreadful. But in the process, it leaves many severe side effects. In many instances, they are much severe than the original disorder.
Instead, meditation offers the shift in state of mind without harming us in anyway. What is the need to stuff our bodies with mind-altering chemicals when nature has provided us with the best pharmaceutical factory in form of our brains?
Be it feeling of stress or relaxation, both are results of certain chemical reactions inside our brains. We can take charge of what outcome it produces with the help of meditation. Meditation can help us relieve from stress and anxiety, cure panic attacks fast and permanently, overcoming depression and other mental illness and achieve total wellness of mind and body.
The biggest difference between effect of medication and meditation is that; medication makes you feel better for a moment, but as soon as the stressful event occurs we respond to it in the habitual way. On the other hand; meditation changes your entire perception towards life in loving and compassionate way.
