The perennial debate that surrounds walk in showers – or indeed, most any good that can allow for a certain variance of form and substance that results in a price discrepancy between one specific subtype of that good and another – always concerns that of luxury versus efficiency, a debate which mostly centers around the issue of functionality and “feature clash”, which is a term for that insidious occasion when one or more of your added features, which are supposed to increase general functionality, instead interferes with the others, causing an aggregate lowered functionality instead. However that is immaterial for this discussion.
The ideological split between ostentation and Spartan economy is perhaps as ancient as the Ancient Egyptians; one imagines a priest telling his Pharaoh that, yes, the tremendous golden pyramid is indeed shiny, but one wonders whether all that gold could instead have gone to the funding of certain wars that have raged year after year. In any case, the ideological split is one that results due to unintelligent individuals relegating the complexities of any debate into black and white terms, for they like their terms clearly defined, which allows them to cheer their supported argument and boo its opponent with much more focus and force than is really necessary.
Interestingly the debate is strongest around the wet room system, as for example when it comes to luxury wet rooms are pretty much the last thing you would think of – as a rule. Large swathes of these debates tend to lend their own weight to arguments centered around similar tenets but wholly different products; however a concession of one means the concession of other aligned arguments lest they be caught out in a false position, which is a generally disagreeable situation to be in for most folk.
Keep in mind always the simple fact that neither side is ever absolutely right or absolutely wrong, as there are shades and sprinklings of truth on either side most of the time, regardless of the topic at hand. It is a simple matter of picking and choosing the truths you desire.
