Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. Yeah!

There are people who don;t like to cook and people who do like to cook. I fall into the ‘like it a lot’ category. But sometimes I get home and don’t want to cook. The NFL Network or SportsCenter — from my favorite recliner — is much more appealing.

Instead of doing what I want to do, which is to call and have pizza or Chinese delivered or going out to a restaurant — all of which are kinda pricey these days — I have found some stuff that is easy, quick, delicious, and nutritious.

Shrimp. Yep. Shrimp. There are a zillion great shrimp recipes. Most of them are pretty simple and pretty quick for one main reason…shrimp cook really, really fast!
No, I don’t want shrimp every night, but I don’t want anything every night. Add it to your arsenal of quickies that are delicious, though.

Oh my my, have found a recipe for you! It is called bacon wrapped shrimp. Know what’s in it? Bacon…and shrimp! How does it get much better? Being a shrimp lover since childhood — and a bacon lover because, well, who doesn’t love bacon — this one is a home run. The great thing about it is that you can have bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers or as a main course.

In addition to follow the recipe above, it is also a great cooked outside over a fire. Tremendous grilled shrimp recipes are another thing to throw into your bag of tricks for fast, simple meals. In addition to the superior taste of food cooked over a fire, cooking outside keeps the kitchen from heating up.  (As I write this, it is summer and the humidity is as high as the 90+ degree temperatures, so that is no small consideration!)

Shrimp. Go figure. Why didn’t we think of it before?
